The Mom & Dad song

Okay, so every night we do a bedtime routine for our girls in which we sing like ... hmm ... a lot of songs. Sydney will frequently request the song "For Good" from Wicked, but she calls it the "Mom & Dad" song because we had that song on a photo montage of the two of us. So, we were tired and the kids were ornery the other night so we weren't going to sing any extra songs. Sydney makes a request for the "Mom & Dad" song and starts singing it herself. What we didn't realize was that she knows all of the words!!! She's only 3 years old and she just sang the entire song word of word. So, she ended up getting her song, even though she was the one to sing it.

Proposition 8

I'm very annoyed with the LDS church being singled out, protested, and even boycotted because of our support for Proposition 8. Why is the LDS church getting the most attention when there was a whole coalition of religions that were supporters of traditional marrage. Bishop William Weigan, head of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sacramento said the following:

"Catholics stand in solidarity with our Mormon brothers and sisters in support of traditional marriage--the union of one man and one woman--that has been the major building block of Western Civilization for millennia.

"The ProtectMarriage coalition, which led the successful campaign to pass Proposition 8, was an historic alliance of people from every faith and ethnicity. LDS were included--but so were Catholics and Jews, Evangelicals and Orthodox, African-Americans and Latinos, Asians and Anglos.

"Bigoted attacks on Mormons for the part they played in our coalition are shameful and ignore the reality that Mormon voters were only a small part of the groundswell that supported Proposition 8.

You may blame the LDS church for proposition 8 for passing, but there was a lot more people involved than just us. Don't boycott Utah; boycott your own state, seeing how the majority of the people in California supported the proposition.

Gilmore Girls

So, if you remember the last season of Gilmore Girls you are probably still upset about the lame way that Rory and Logan ended.

Remeber... Rory was going to go off and follow Barak Obama's campaign as a reporter for some internet magazine instead of move over to California to be with the love of her life.

Well.... now there is a finally something positive with this presidential campaign. Now Rory's job is over and she can finally get married to Logan. Right? I mean come on why not? Why not have a TV movie where they finally tie in all of the loose ends? (of course that is if Logan hasn't moved on to someone else by now). What do you think?

Brain Power

So, I saw this video from 60 minutes about using the brain sensory to allow people with lock-in syndrome to use computers, move robotic limbs and wheelchairs. Its amazing. Visit to Old Main

We wanted to get pictures of the kids in their Aggie attire by the campus so we went up to Logan during UEA weekend. The pictures with Old Main actually in them didn't work out so well.

Sorry we weren't able to visit everyone. We'll have to visit another time. We miss Logan!

Logan Temple

During UEA we went up to Logan to visit the temple and the USU campus for pictures.

Post Halloween

Ha! I'm looking at all of my friends' blogs and what do I see? A hundred cute pictures of their kids staring at me. And me with no pictures on my blog. Oh, we have pictures, but we have to find the time to attempt to post them. Sydney dressed up as Sleeping Beauty, Savannah was an Elephant and Logan was a Tiger. And they were very cute.

Friends

I've been thinking about old friends lately. Those who I was really good friends with at one point of my life, like high school, college, etc. Now that I'm married and have children its really easy not to see my friends anymore. Life is so busy with my 3 children and my job. I have felt like I have let some people that are very important to me drift out of my life. People that I would swear at the time that I would stay in touch with forever. Forever seems to drift away from the reality of work and business of the day.

I want to resolve to be a better friend. I don't know how well I would do because life continues to be so busy (3 kids 3 years and under will do that). That's something I'm going to work on. I'm sure you all really want to hear this (spoken with a slight sarcastic tone), but hey... its my blog.

Yes, I know I've promised pictures... I feel so much like a politician. I will get to that sooner or later.

Broken promises and computers

So, the computer that has all the pictures on it has been broken for a little while. We're trying to get all of the photos off of it on Safe Mode before we get it fixed. At any rate, as you can see, there are no pictures like I promised. But we will get them up sometime soon (do you like how I used a vague time word - soon is relative to the reader, it could me tomorrow, or 10 years from now), but yes, its coming soon.

Logan's blessing

We finally blessed Logan yesterday. He looked so cute in his little white blessing outfit. It looked like a little white tuxedo. Steve Limb mentioned that he just needed a top hat and tapping shoes to finish off the outfit. I know describing it isn't as good as actually showing a picture, but I'm at work, so what can I do. I'll have to ask Lindy to see if she can post some pictures soon. I can't remember if we have some on our camera or if they are on her parents' camera. Anyway, he's such a calm baby. We really needed a calm baby at this point in our life.

Sydney's getting old

Sydney is getting so useful. Yesterday when I was bathing Savannah I could hear my phone ringing but wasn't about to leave Savannah and get it. Next thing I know is Sydney's bringing me the phone and says "here's dada". She had actually answered the phone, not just brought it to me. Bob told me later that she answered by saying hello, and he was confused when it wasn't my voice. He said, "Sydney?" and she said,"oh, hi dada". Then he asked if he could talk to me and she brought me the phone. Crazy!

Pudding

The girls were hungry for pudding today, just thought I'd share the photo's that my wife emailed me.

Oh, how quickly summer goes by

Especially if you work at a year-round school. Yes, we have already started again. :( /cry. But what do you do. Technically I have been working 1-2 days a week for the last 5 weeks (extended year services at Viewmont high school).

I got moved to another elementary school closer to my home, nice... And I'll be sharing a high school with my friend Andrew. We don't usually have as much to do at the high schools as speech therapist, but we still have some students that we work with. I ran into one of my students from last year at Cafe Rio. He told his mom that I was "cool", can you believe it. I mean, those of you who really know me... can you believe? Me neither.

Anyway, now I have to get back to work and pray that Lindy doesn't divorce me for leaving her home with the three kids.

All the kids

We were pretty proud of ourselves for getting some pictures with all 3 kids together, and none of them were crying. You that have 3 kids in 3 years, or multiple children can understand this. These are the outfits Lindy's aunt Jodi gave them. Cute!!!

Lagoon

My mom & sister helped us take the kids to Lagoon on their stake Lagoon day, since we would never do this by ourselves with a 3 year old, an 18 month old, & a 2 month old. The girls weren't so sure about the rides at first, but ended up having a great time. We even went back for bounce back on Monday.

Sydney asked to get wet in the water fountain thinger, so Aunt Elyse took her. Then Sydney freaked out, she didn't know what she was getting her self into.

Bama and Sydney. Bama is Sydney's absolute favorite, when she's around, Mom and Dad go to the way side.

Matching Ariel swimsuits. Too bad we couldn't talk Bob into getting in Ariel swimsuit.

The little girls loved the lazy river, when we left they were both very upset.

Savannah was scared on the ferris wheel, so scared, she fell asleep.

Savannah was so tired (missing all of her naps) that she conked out on Bob's lap.

Of course Logan boy came with us too. He slept most the time. Eat sleep, eat sleep. Bob doesn't think he has such a bad life.
