Follow up Post (2 in a week!)

Its nice to know that we do have some readers. You haven't given up on us. I'm going to write here more often, but I'm usually at work, so there won't be pictures on my posts. Lindy typically does the pictures; however, our newer computer (which contains all the pictures) is in Salt Lake waiting for our friend Norl to give it a look over. It likes to periodically shut down because of over heating, /sigh. Lotsa fun right there.

I can't believe just how quickly our children are growing. I was looking at some pictures from just 2 years ago. Wow, Savannah is so much bigger, and she has soo much more of her curly strawberry blond hair. Logan is shooting up like a weed as well. He loves to say "yeah, yeah, yeah" its coot, and we can get him to repeat on different consonants like "da da da da" (my favorite). He's so stubborn and determined. He loves to unplug our lamp in the living room. We'll move him away and he'll just go back over and over and over again. Oh, and its no fun having him on your lap when you are on the computer. If you don't let him have full reign over the mouse or keyboard he'll start getting all upset, squirming, taking my glasses off, etc. Lotsa fun again.

So, what have y'all been up to this summer? Any fun vacations? Anything fun in Utah to do?

Many Happy Returns

Well, Pauline pointed out to me that it had been awhile since we had update our blog. It has been sadly gray on many of your blog readers out there. So, to quickly catch y'all up.

The kids are cute, but they're driving us crazy.

Our AC isn't working so we are hot all the time.

We went to Texas in the beginning of July, good times, pictures will follow, but not on this post :( .

Summer is already over for me because I work at a year round school, but I'm happy to have a built in summer job that pays well.

Our backyard is about waist high with grass and weeds, but I should be getting our lawn mower from the shop on Friday.

Our Bateman/William firework show at my brother's house only had one injury, and no fatalities.

We've made an investment in fans and have them through out the house.

Logan is walking and loves to get into things. I'm thinking of making a poster of him entitled "determination" - the boy who never quits.

Sydney turned 4 while we were in Texas, she's growing up too fast.

Savannah is cute as a button. When something's hot she says "its tot!"

Anything else?? I can't think of anything at the moment. Hope this gives you an idea of what interesting and exciting things are going on in our life at the moment.

Why Men Should Never Make a Wedding Cake

So, when Lindy posts you get cute pictures of our kids. When I post, you get something random. I normally wouldn't want to post an email I got, but its just to precious to pass by.

By the way Danny White is the exception to this email (of course).

Why Men Should Never Make Wedding Cakes

Here are a few examples:

I especially love the one with the jeep driving up the cake, classic.

FHE: Noah's Ark & Blondies

So for family home evening the girls made blondies for our treat and let them bake while we were doing the lesson. They must have the magic touch because they were the best batch of blondies we've ever made.

Savannah had to snitch the chocolate chips. The chef always has to taste their product while making it.

We had a Noah's ark lesson. I found two of different kinds of animals, printed them out, and cut them out. We let the girls color them and bob drew the ark. Here they are putting the animals in the ark.

Random March Pictures

He's just so cute looking through those bars. I hope this isn't foreshadowing. j/k

This was right before Logan dived off the bed and I barely caught him.

St. Patrick's Day

Well, I had a difficult time finding some green for the girls to wear for St. Patrick's day. We went to the park for playgroup and the kids followed green leprechaun footprints to some green shamrock cookies he had left for them. Thanks Lisa!

Logan's Hair Cut

Well, we finally cut Logan's hair on Sunday. What do you think?

Before

After

This is most of his hair in a baggie. The rest got of Lindy and the floor.

Beans, Beans the Magical Fruit

Well Friday my friend Wendy came up and helped me can some of my beans. (Yes, I have a lot more than this!) And now my house is a disaster again. (I kept it clean for a whole week!) Anyway, the girls had a lot of fun helping me put the beans in the jars. And yes there were lots of beans on the floor because of this.

" I want to be like Daddy, but only a princess"

So yesterday when Savannah and I were eating breakfast I heard the guitar. Sydney had gone in the den, pulled out the guitar, and was trying to play it while standing up. I put her on the couch so it would be easier. Bob loves the guitar but doesn't get to play much because the girls attack him whenever he tries to play. He'll have to give Sydney lessons when she's old enough to play for reals.

Results of Quiet Time/Nap Time

So yes again she fell asleep. Not in her bed, but still she slept. YAY!!!

Sleeping Babies

First of all I have to tell you how cute the girls are with their baby dolls. Savannah got a stroller for her doll for her b-day and Sydney already had one. They will have races with their strollers, with the babies inside, all around the house. They even say, "Ready, set, GO!" Well today day they put their babies in the baby bed together and used one of their own blankets to cover them up.

Another thought about sleeping...Sydney has been throwing a fit during nap time lately (not that she would usually sleep during nap time anyway). So Bob was looking up stuff about naps for 3 year old and they said to call it quiet time and let them read books and play quite games. Well, just calling it a different name made a world of difference to Sydney. Yesterday she got in her bed and asked me to give her her books. She totally fell asleep. Again today she got right in bed with no screaming putting her books next to her in bed. We'll see if she sleeps today but at least she's spending some quite time alone. (Sometimes I just need a brake from her!)

Once there was a snowman

Well, I finally got Bob to go out and build a snowman with the kids on his day off, President's day. Sydney had been carrying around this snowman kit that we got from my cousin for weeks asking to build a snowman. She finally got her snowman but now he's melting away.

Random February Pics

The girls in their pig pajamas.

Yes, this is Savannah sleeping in a dresser drawer. And no, I did not put her in there. Bob had to brake some of the drawers because none of them would open, stupid safety feature gone wrong, so that's why there are no drawers above the bottom one.

Bob lets the girls ride on his back sometimes so they decided that they could ride each other as well.
